  • Monitors and provides appropriate documentation of subordinates’ performance; assists in the preparation of written performance evaluations.

  • May coordinate cloud‑based control systems for site‑based utility operation in accordance with parks use schedules.
  • Oversees preventive maintenance and minor repairs of assigned equipment and vehicles.
  • Participates in and leads the work of a specific functional area: forestry operations, plumbing inspection and repair, trail maintenance and repair, metal fabrication and installations, electrical inspection and repair, playground safety, repairs, and other related parks infrastructure.
  • May assist in the development of watering programs to provide an appropriate level of precipitation to a variety of plant materials.
  • Welds, fabricates, installs, and repairs various components related to infrastructure.
  • The incumbent must assist technicians in developing work priorities within the current demands on services and oversee the work of assigned personnel and evaluate employee performance against established standards.
  • Provides general supervision to assigned staff and contractual services; aids in performing payroll entry when needed for assigned staff.
  • May maintain and repair small, motorized equipment departmental assets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of: Current safety standards related to playground structures and surrounding areas; construction means and methods; plumbing system and electrical installation, maintenance, repairs and operations; playground equipment maintenance; troubleshooting parks equipment; and basic construction knowledge.
  • Skill in: Communicating clearly both verbally and in writing; operating a personal computer using Microsoft Office applications; when assigned to irrigation, skill in irrigation programming software (Motorola, Hunter, Rain Bird, Irritrol, etc.); completing preventive maintenance and minor repairs on common grounds maintenance tools, implements and equipment; training and leading the work of others; reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Three (3) years of experience in facilities/infrastructure maintenance, including a minimum of six months’ experience leading the work of subordinate personnel. Any work‑related experience that results in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the specified education and experience requirements.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Texas CDL B is required in Infrastructure/Asset work groups (prior to employment). Prefer Texas CDL
