Compensation Data

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 and reflects factors such as years of experience, relevant expertise, and overall qualifications.

Job Summary

The Facility Specialist is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of company facilities, including office, laboratory, mechanical, utility, and general building areas. This hands‑on role performs and coordinates preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, vendor support, and general building maintenance to ensure the site remains safe, compliant, and operational.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify maintenance needs and prioritize repairs.
  • Coordinate test equipment calibration and repair activities. Maintain calibration records and support the calibration database.
  • Track, organize, and manage customer test samples and TÜV equipment according to procedures.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving of equipment and test samples.
  • Perform strong hands‑on maintenance and repair tasks, troubleshoot and resolve general facility issues.
  • Perform minor repairs, installations, adjustments, and troubleshooting using appropriate tools and safety practices.
  • Have familiarity with lockout/tagout, electrical safety, ladder safety, hand and power tool safety, PPE requirements, and general workplace safety practices.
  • Recognize when work requires a licensed contractor, specialized vendor, permit, or additional safety review.
  • Build test setups as needed to support the laboratory.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to minimize downtime and prolong the lifespan of equipment and facilities.
  • Implement safety and security measures to ensure the safety of building occupants and protect facilities and equipment.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with industry regulations and standards to ensure the facilities comply with all relevant laws and codes.
  • Work with vendors for scheduled maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Ensure smooth site operations and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure all facility needs are updated.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Education

High School Diploma.

Work Experience
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, laboratory support, equipment coordination, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in building maintenance, facility operations, engineering support, or a related hands‑on technical field.
  • Practical experience performing or supporting plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, general repair, or building maintenance work.
  • Experience in a laboratory, R&D, manufacturing, testing, or technical services environment.
  • Strong technical skills, project management experience, and effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment and processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
