Position: IS TECHNICIAN LDAR I

HPC-Industrial, a Clean Harbors company headquartered in Ponca City, is in search of an LDAR Technician. The role involves identifying, documenting, and tagging fugitive emissions from industrial components such as valves and pumps to ensure compliance with EPA regulations. The technician will use specialized equipment including Toxic Vapor Analyzers and Optical Gas Imaging cameras, monitor, report and facilitate repairs at refineries, chemical plants, and oil and gas sites.

The position requires working in industrial settings and maintaining positive customer relationships by providing timely cleaning services.

Work Schedule
  • Mon–Thurs 9 hours, 4 hours on Friday
Responsibilities
  • Ensure health and safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting, pulling and pushing heavy objects.
  • Perform routine and scheduled field inspections of components (valves, connectors, pumps, tanks) to detect leaks of volatile organic compounds.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain analyzers such as Flame Ionization Detectors.
  • Record inspection data, tag leaking components, and manage inventory within databases like LeakDAS, Guide Ware and Sky Bridge.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations (e.g., 40 CFR Subpart 60) and strict site safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to report leaks and verify repairs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • TWIC required.
  • Confined space entry and 10‑hour OSHA training preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently in physically demanding, remote, or loud industrial environments.
  • Capability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as Nomex coveralls, back belt, slicker suits, rubber boots, a fresh‑air breathing mask, escape pack and hard hat.
  • Ability to work under extreme climate conditions, including high heat, high humidity, and sub‑zero weather.
  • Tolerance for dust, chemicals, fumes, exhaust and highly pressurized fluids.
  • Physical stamina to walk long distances, stand for extended periods, climb ladders or scaffolding and lift up to 50 lbs.
