We are now hiring a Full-Time Maintenance Mechanic 1, in a Full-Time, Permanent role to perform mechanical and facility repairs, grounds maintenance (to include lawn care, landscaping, and watering of grounds), carpentry and plumbing work, and more!

Please note:

The schedule work hours will be 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Incumbent may be expected to adjust the work schedule to meet business needs and can be at times asked to work beyond 4:00 pm, to support unique circumstances, and to meet the business needs of the home. This position is not eligible for telework.

Working knowledge of skills in fields such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, painting, and machinist work is preferred in applicants for the maintenance of our long-term care facility and grounds.

* This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step L. Step M has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.

Updated as of July 1, 2025:
This position is eligible for "Supplement Basic Shift Premium" for 24/7 Facilities. Employees who are assigned to a facility that provides direct care to residents, patients, and/or clients and whose duties are required to be performed on location will receive an additional one dollar ($1.00) per hour of supplemental basic shift premium for each hour of basic shift premium. This shift premium does not apply to overtime hours.

The supplemental basic shift premium shall expire on June 29, 2027.

These locations provide Medicare and Medicaid nursing home care to Veterans, including, in some instances, their spouses, widows, or Gold Star Families.

Some of what you'll do:
  • Perform maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical, mechanical and structural systems of buildings and utility distribution.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, lawn mowers, and other equipment as needed.
  • Perform minor repairs on building fixtures, plumbing, heating, laundry, and kitchen equipment, motors, and electrical appliances.
  • Operate automotive equipment to transport materials and supplies.
  • Mow, irrigate, fertilize, and maintain lawns.
  • Use a variety of manual tools and equipment such as weed trimmers, backpack blowers, light tractors, and lawn mowers.
  • Plant, transplant, trim, and water plants, trees, flowers, and shrubs.
