The City of Port Townsend is recruiting for three vacancies in the Wastewater Treatment/Compost division of our Public Works Department, one at Crew Chief or Crew Chief Apprentice level, one at Operator I or II level, and one at Apprentice, Maintenance Worker, or Operator level. Placement is dependent on qualifications.
Port Townsend is located on the Olympic Peninsula just two hours from Seattle. The city’s 10,330 residents and over a million visitors a year enjoy its historic seaport character mixed with a vibrant creative culture.
This position may be eligible for the additional compensation listed below. Details can be found in the Collective Bargaining Agreement:
- Crew Chief Pay Range: $ base pay ($ total pay range with maximum potential longevity)
- Crew Chief Apprentice Pay Range: $ base pay ($ total pay range with maximum potential longevity)
- Operator II Pay Range: $ hourly base pay ($ total pay range including maximum potential longevity pay)
- Operator I Pay Range: $ hourly base pay ($ total pay range including maximum potential longevity pay)
- Maintenance Worker Pay Range: $ hourly base pay ($ total pay range including maximum potential longevity)
- Maintenance Worker Apprentice Pay Range: $ hourly base pay ($ total pay range including maximum potential longevity)
- Longevity pay on a graduated schedule starting at 2% after 5 years, up to 12% after 25 years
- Remote plant operations pay
- Emergency response pay
- Phone-watch pay
- Overtime pay or compensatory time
- Premium pay or compensatory time
- Jury duty pay at regular rate during service
- Call-back pay
- Standby pay
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance through WA Teamsters Welfare Trust Fund
- Time loss/short-term disability insurance
- Life & AD&D insurance
- Sick leave (earns 1 day per month)
- May be eligible for sick leave conversion annually
