About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician is an entry-level, hands-on role in Floor Life Solutions' growing commercial floor care division. This position is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in learning new skills and delivering high-quality results. Working closely with the Floor Maintenance Lead and Operations Manager, Technicians help maintain and restore floors to the highest standards while gaining valuable trade experience and opportunities for career growth within the division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform floor maintenance and cleaning tasks, including scrubbing, buffing, stripping, sealing, and carpet care (this is not a janitorial role).
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment, maintaining organized vehicles and supply areas, and ensuring tools are cleaned and stored properly.
- Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress, issues, or equipment needs.
- Represent Floor Life Solutions professionally on-site; be punctual, respectful, and customer-conscious.
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development.
- Support the Floor Maintenance Lead with setup, task execution, and cleanup at each job site.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and occasional overtime depending on project needs.
Qualifications:
- No prior floor care experience required; training provided for candidates with related experience in maintenance, cleaning, or similar roles.
- Valid driver's license required; able to use company vehicles for job site travel.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and occasional overtime.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to follow directions.
- Able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including lifting up to 100 lbs, standing, bending, and moving equipment.
- Positive attitude, dependable, and eager to learn new skills in a trade environment.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred (training can be provided after hire).
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Primarily field-based work on active job sites with some administrative functions. Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, and perform other physical tasks throughout the shift. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying temperatures (PPE provided). Frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and use of tools and machinery. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly. Pushing and pulling heavy equipment up to 450 lbs.
