Responsibilities
Independent, self‑starting, and detail‑oriented Janitor/Drive for daily upkeep and facilities maintenance projects at OHSU operations in Portland, OR.
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM - Pay: $20.00 per hour
- Driver's license in good standing and MVR check required
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- FREE Tri Met annual pass available
Basic Functions – Perform janitorial duties and customer interface with minimum supervision.
- Perform all maintenance and cleaning tasks per checklists and supervisor direction, removing dirt, dust, litter, and debris using brooms, mops, brushes, and other hand tools.
- Make multiple rounds daily to pick up and discard trash and debris.
- Empty all trash receptacles inside and out, including offices.
- Note and report burned out light bulbs and any equipment malfunctions.
- Clean all spills.
- Submit requests for repairs or maintenance.
- Follow OSHA rules and regulations.
- Clean all restrooms.
- Keep an inventory of janitorial supplies.
- Maintain a daily janitorial service sheet.
- Operate commercial cleaning equipment, as applicable.
- Shovel and clean snow from entrances, exits, and designated areas.
- Report any violations of company policy, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager promptly.
- Practice customer satisfaction and five customer service behaviors for successful interactions.
- Assist customers within the facility or as directed.
- Resolve customer complaints independently or with supervisor aid.
- Be familiar with all aspects of the operation; cover other duties as needed.
- Maintain a neat appearance and uniform before and during shifts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience and education.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Availability for the defined schedule; ability to work 3rd shift and/or weekends if required.

- Physical demands: uses hand and fingers, communicates with customers and staff, stands/walks for up to 8 hours, may climb, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, bend; lifts and moves 50 lbs or more; withstands dust, chemicals, and extreme weather.
Salary: $20.00 per hour.
