Responsibilities

Our OHSU client seeks an independent, self-starting, and detail-oriented Janitor/Drive for daily upkeep and facilities maintenance projects at our OHSU operations in Portland, OR.

Schedule
:
Monday - Friday, 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Pay Rate
: $20.00 per hour

  • Driver's license in good standing to pass MVR check required
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
  • FREE Tri Met annual pass available

Basic Functions:

  • Perform all maintenance and cleaning tasks noted on checklists and as directed by the facility manager/supervisor to ensure that dirt, dust, litter, and debris are removed from all areas of the facility using brooms, mops, brushes, and other hand tools.
  • Make multiple rounds daily to pick up and discard trash and debris.
  • Empty all trash receptacles inside and out, including offices.
  • Note and report burned out light bulbs and any malfunctions of equipment.
  • Clean all spills.
  • Submit requests for repairs or maintenance.
  • Follow OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Clean all restrooms.
  • Keep an inventory of janitorial supplies.
  • Maintain a daily janitorial service sheet.
  • Operate commercial cleaning equipment as applicable.
  • Shovel and clean snow from entrance or exit ramps and designated areas using shovels and other cleaning equipment.
  • Report any unknown, observed, or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards, or any unusual occurrence to the Facility Manager promptly.
  • Practice the Three Keys to Customer Satisfaction and the Five Customer Service Behaviors to ensure successful customer interactions.
  • Assist customers within the facility or as directed by the Facility Manager/Supervisor.
  • Resolve customer complaints independently or with a supervisor’s aid.
  • Be familiar with all aspects of the operation and cover other duties as needed.
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance and arrive and remain in uniform before and during scheduled shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
:
High School Diploma or a combination of experience and education. May require facility maintenance, electrical, painting experience, and/or skills training depending on the job assignment.

License Requirement
:
Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record.

Availability to Work
:
Availability to work 3rd shift and/or week‑ends may be required.

Salary

$20.00 per hour
