Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Environmental Service Technicians/Housekeepers to support operations at the Portland VA Medical Center located at 3710 Southwest US Veterans Hospital Road, Portland, OR 97239. Employment is subject to schedule changes at the direction of Ansible or its customers.

Responsibilities
  • Outpatient Rooms:
    High dust, wipe walls and all furniture in rooms. Clean any debris or paint left by building contractors. Floors will be mopped with germicidal solution. Carpeted floors vacuumed. All horizontal surfaces kept free of dust and debris. Change out cubical curtains when needed.
  • Maintain Floors:
    Sweep, dust‑mop, damp‑mop, wet‑mop, dry‑buff, and spray‑buff all non‑carpeted floors to ensure a uniform, glossy appearance. Protect baseboards, corners and wall/floor edges. Remove floor maintenance solutions from baseboards and furniture, moving items as necessary.
  • Break room:
    Dust‑mop, wet‑mop and refinish VCT flooring. Clean counters, sinks, shelving, tables, chairs, and appliances; wipe with VA‑approved germicidal. Keep area ready for inspection, free of dust on vents, ledges and walls.
  • Common Areas:
    Sweep, mop and wipe down waiting areas, chairs, tables, windowsills, stairwells and corridors with VA‑approved germicidal throughout the day. Maintain entrance mats as required.
  • Remove Trash:
    Remove all trash from cleaned areas each day. Delete marked “TRASH” boxes, cans and papers. Deposit trash in nearest outside container. Keep receptacles clean, odor‑free.
  • Clean and Disinfect:
    Use EPA‑approved hospital‑grade germicidal detergent to disinfect sinks, water fountains, plumbing fixtures, toilets, urinals, showers, etc. Polish dry surfaces. Keep waiting rooms free of paper, trash and bottles.
  • Clean Interior Glass/Mirrors:
    Clean all interior glass including doors, partitions, windows and display cases; ensure no film or streaks remain.
  • Vacuum Carpets:
    Vacuum carpeted areas, removing visible dirt and debris. Address spots using carpet manufacturer‑approved methods.
  • Clean Carpets:
    Clean carpets per commercial practices; remove stains. Move furniture as needed; restore carpet appearance.
  • Vacuum and Clean Floor Mats:
    Clean interior and exterior mats; remove lint, litter and moisture. Return mats to normal location.
  • General Spot Cleaning:
    Spot‑clean walls, vents, doors, switches and other washable surfaces to keep them streak‑free.
  • General Dusting:
    Dust and clean all horizontal surfaces, wiping with VA‑approved germicidal.
  • Change out Cubical Curtains:
    Replace as needed or when soiled.
  • Descale Toilet Bowls:
    Decalcify weekly or as needed; keep surfaces free of scale, soap film and stains.
  • Stock Restroom Supplies:
    Ensure restrooms are stocked throughout the day with soaps, paper towels and toilet paper.
  • Strip Wax, Finish and Buff:
    Strip, finish and buff floors using non‑slip floor finish. Perform semi‑annually or as requested. Coordinate scheduling to avoid disruption.
  • Wet Mop with Neutral Floor Cleaner:
    Use Micro‑Fiber Mopping System to wet‑mop all accessible areas; remove splash marks or streaks.
  • Handle Large Spills:
    When required, use string mops and a double‑bucket mopping process.
  • Spray and Buff Floors:
    Spray and buff all floor areas accessible by floor machine; apply uniform non‑skid finish.
  • Remove Excess Floor Finish:
    Ensure excess finish solutions are removed; apply techniques only to areas needing work.
Qualifications
  • United States citizen.
  • Must pass a background/suitability investigation.
  • Completed physical examination prior to starting.
  • A complete application package (resume, references, etc.).
  • Selected applicants must complete an online onboarding process.
Position Pays

$18.35 – $23.44 /hr

Physical Requirements
  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
