Job Description
As a Facilities Technician 3 you will train and support the execution of our preventative maintenance program, and troubleshoot and repair the building and material handling systems.
Responsibilities- Act as a safety champion and promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all aspects of material handling systems & conveyors (e.g., motor/reducer issues, belt tracker, belt lacing).
- Diagnose problems using test equipment, electrical and electronic control systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot basic relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components (photoeyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachs, encoders).
- Safely operate equipment: forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, hand tools, and energy management equipment for system support tasks.
- Use work order system to lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures.
- Create and close out work orders with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
- Maintain a positive working relationship across the Nordstrom Operations facility, communicating effectively with senior operations leaders.
- Communicate daily all pertinent information regarding equipment operation and maintenance to departmental management and other maintenance teams.
- Help develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets.
- Mentor technicians by motivating, providing guidance, and leading training plans.
- Perform physical duties: lift up to 49 lbs, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
- At least 5+ years of experience with conveyors, electrical systems, & building maintenance.
- Associate’s degree or higher from a vocational school or college with focus in Mechanical or Electrical field (preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of operation and repair of material handling equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of power tools, pneumatic or hydraulic tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use technology such as smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems.
- Basic knowledge of control systems & PLCs (preferred).
- Robotic knowledge (preferred).
$27.50 - $44.00 per hour. Pay offers depend on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
