Position: FT Janitor – Portland Maintenance Team.

Pay Rate: $22.62 per hour.

Hours:

Wednesday – Sunday, 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM (Monday & Tuesday off).

• Independent self‑starter.
• Open availability; able to flex schedule when necessary.
• Full‑time position (vacation and holiday pay, benefits eligible).

• Perform all maintenance and cleaning tasks noted on checklists and as directed by the facility manager/supervisor to ensure that all dirt, dust, litter and debris is removed from all areas of the facility using brooms, mops, brushes and other hand tools.
• Make multiple rounds daily to pick up and discard trash and debris.
• Empty all trash receptacles inside and out, including offices.
• Note and report burned‑out light bulbs and any malfunctions of equipment.
• Clean all spills.
• Submit requests for repairs or maintenance.
• Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
• Clean all restrooms.
• Keep an inventory of janitorial supplies.
• Maintain a daily janitorial service sheet.
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment, as applicable for the job.
• Shovel and clean snow from the entrance or exit ramps and in areas designated by the Facility Manager using shovels and other cleaning equipment.
• Report any unknown, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility Manager in a timely manner.
• Practice the Three Keys to Customer Satisfaction including the Five Customer Service Behaviors to ensure successful customer interactions.
• Assist customers within the facility or as directed by the Facility Manager/Supervisor.
• Resolve customer complaints independently or with the aid of a supervisor.
• Be familiar with all aspects of the operation and cover other duties on an as‑needed basis.
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance and arrive and remain in full uniform before and during scheduled shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience. May require facility maintenance, electrical, painting experience or skills training depending on the job assignment.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license if required for company vehicle use.
• Availability to work 3rd shift and/or weekends as required.
• Speaks and writes clearly; listens and clarifies questions.
• Maintains a positive attitude, responds to requests for service and assistance.
• Adapts to changes in the work environment; deals with delays or unexpected events.
• Exhibits sound judgment and professionalism under pressure.
• Ability to read, write and interpret the English language.
• Physical demands: use hands and fingers, sit, reach, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, stretch, bend; lift and move 50 pounds or more regularly; work in extreme weather conditions.
• Vision requirements: close vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus; tolerate dust, chemicals and irritants.

$22.62 per hour.
