Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the reliability and performance of plant machinery, mechanical equipment, and facility systems within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment issues, and supporting the continuous operation of production processes. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure equipment uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.
CoreDuties & Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and equipment failures in a timely manner.
- Support production by responding to equipment downtime and restoring operations efficiently.
- Build and modify fixtures, templates, workstations, and other maintenance-related items as needed.
- Inspect, test, and evaluate equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure proper functionality.
- Disassemble and reassemble machinery and components using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Install, replace, or adjust machine parts in accordance with specifications.
- Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, blueprints, and maintenance instructions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and facilities teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Transport tools, materials, and equipment as required to support maintenance activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support facility and production needs.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing maintenance role preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment effectively.
- Experience reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective communication skills across multiple levels of the organization.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry, documentation, and communication.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting, standing, and working in industrial environments.
Physical Requirements:
This role operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and varying environmental conditions. The position requires frequent standing, walking, and use of hands and tools. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Details:Job Type: Full-time, Monday thru Friday
Shift: Daytime Shift – 6 or 7 AM start time
Wage:
Starting at $30/hr
