Maintenance Manager

Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Varies based on facility needs (may include on-call responsibilities)

About the Role

A well-established healthcare organization is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department and ensure the safe, efficient function of the facility’s physical plant and environmental systems. This is a confidential search for a leader who can maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and perform routine maintenance and repair of building systems and facility grounds
  • Coordinate and schedule repairs with external vendors when necessary
  • Ensure continuous operation of utility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
  • Manage departmental budget and monitor expenditures
  • Maintain compliance with fire life safety codes, water regulations, and applicable safety standards
  • Supervise maintenance staff and support team development
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept environment for staff and residents
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and operational planning
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical school preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of building maintenance experience
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in healthcare or long-term care settings is highly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems
  • Familiarity with building codes, OSHA standards, and safety regulations
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements

This role requires regular standing, walking, lifting, and working in environments that may include exposure to weather conditions, chemicals, and mechanical systems.
