About the RoleNorth American Stamping is expanding and looking to hire an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is for 3rd shift at our TNN2 facility in Portland, TN. The hours are 9:45 pm – 6:15 am.
Role SummaryThe Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager and ensures production equipment is safe, operable, and supports efficient production of quality parts. The technician implements predictive and proactive maintenance systems to avoid costly downtime.
Compensation and BenefitsThis position will pay up to $31.37 per hour, plus a 5% shift premium ($1.57) and may earn up to $3.00 per hour as a performance bonus based on skill level. Eligible for a full benefits package including a generous 401(k) matching program.
Experience Requirements- 3 years previous experience as a multi‑craft maintenance technician.
- Automotive background required.
- Prior experience working with heavy duty mechanical presses preferred.
- Strong electrical background.
- Strong mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair.
- Technical skills in industrial electricity, PLC controls, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Good communication skills.
- Technical skills to follow OSHA requirements.
- PC knowledge and experience.
- Ensures that production and related equipment is ready to meet customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot problems on production and related equipment, including PLC, press controls and weld controls.
- Work with all employees to continuously improve quality and production.
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedule for production related equipment.
- Complete work from project list as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
- Requisition supplies and spare parts for maintenance areas and keep these areas organized.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Work with outside tradesmen as required.
- Available for overtime as required.
- Available for training as required.
- Suggest methods for improvements, i.e. continuous improvement plans.
- Ensure maintenance repair requests are being addressed, resolved, and returned for proper record keeping in a timely manner.
- Assist in TS 16949 implementation and maintenance as required.
- Preferred associate degree related to Industrial Maintenance.
- High School Diploma.
- Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to see, bend, kneel, crawl, climb, and reach with hands as needed to service equipment.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
