My client, a well‑established and highly respected producer in the construction materials industry, is seeking an experienced Equipment / Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function across a diverse fleet supporting aggregate, ready mix concrete, and crushing operations.

The Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the President, you will take ownership of the maintenance strategy for a fleet of approximately 200 pieces of mobile and stationary equipment operating across multiple ready mix plants, aggregate operations, and a crushing facility.

Leading an established team, you will be responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, driving preventative and predictive maintenance programs, managing shop operations, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the maintenance team, providing coaching, direction, and performance management.
  • Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximise fleet reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Manage maintenance activities across trucks, heavy equipment, crushing, aggregate, and ready mix operations.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, scheduling, and fleet movements with operational teams.
  • Oversee diagnostics and repairs involving diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drive trains.
  • Manage parts inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
  • Monitor maintenance budgets, equipment costs, and fleet performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, MSHA, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records through fleet management software.
What We're Looking For:
  • 8-10+ years of heavy equipment or diesel maintenance experience.
  • Previous leadership experience managing maintenance teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.
  • Experience with in the ready mix concrete and aggregates industry is essential.
  • ASE certifications or equivalent heavy equipment technical training are highly desirable.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical education preferred.
  • Proficiency with fleet maintenance software and computer diagnostics.
  • Valid driver's licence (CDL preferred).
