Seasonal Laborer

Salary

$22.75 - $25.59 per hour Depending on experience

The primary function of this position is to perform various water system maintenance tasks as a temporary/seasonal Water Utility Laborer.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Washington State driver's license with satisfactory driving record.

• Works well in a team environment.
• May work with little or no supervision.
• Shows self‑motivation and a strong work ethic.

• Performs ground maintenance or closely related work.
• May drive a truck while towing a utility trailer.
• Applies knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Operates small power tools required to complete the maintenance of water systems.
• Performs traffic control responsibilities, such as setting up, moving, and tearing down traffic control cones and signage, and flagging as needed.
• Operates weed eater and mower to perform grounds maintenance on utility properties.
• Cleans utility equipment and vehicles.
• Maintains, cleans, and paints fire hydrants, blow‑offs, valve markers, and Airvacs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Lifting and moving up to 25 pounds, use of construction equipment and hand tools, frequently sitting and standing for extended periods in mostly outdoor environments, in all weather conditions. Moderate noise level, may be occasionally exposed to high noise levels and working around moving traffic.

Seasonal positions may qualify for leave or benefits through Washington State Sick Leave program if eligible.
