Radar Repairer

Radar is the Army National Guard's eyes and ears, providing critical information to officers in the field. The Radar Repairer ensures that communication messages are heard loud and clear, serving as a vital asset to the communications maintenance team.

• Inspect, test, and adjust system components and test equipment to specific tolerances.
• Perform initial, in‑process, on‑site technical, and quality control inspections.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot radar systems using electronic and electrical test equipment.
• Install, maintain, and repair receivers, transmitters, and other components.
• Prepare and maintain detailed equipment logs.

• Application of electronic principles and concepts.
• Inspection techniques and procedural knowledge.
• Operational procedures for air traffic control, missile tracking, and air defense radar systems.

Training consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training followed by 45 weeks of classroom and practical instruction in two phases, culminating in hands‑on repair and replacement of equipment parts.
