Education and/or Experience Required
NCPK Sites:  Bachelor’s Degree in B-K, Early Childhood Education, Child Development or other DPI acceptable degree and obtain and/or maintain an SPII BK Teaching License
Non-NCPK Sites: AAS ECE Degree
Special Requirements
A valid North Carolina driver’s license (without restrictions)
Criminal Background Check Eligibility Letter issued from the NCDHHS
Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
Must successfully complete Playground Safety Training within 6 months of hire
Must be certified in First Aid and CPR
Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements
Work requires some physical activity such as walking, reaching, stooping and repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and fingers. Work also includes the ability to see, hear, talk, and physically move about the classroom.  Visual acuity is necessary to read materials and operate computer terminals and other office equipment. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. The employee is predominantly subject to inside environmental conditions. Although activities occur inside and outside the employee is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.  Travel to training sites and various community meetings may be required.  Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. The employee may monitor buses at some locations

• AA Degree in Social work, Psychology, or Nursing with 24 units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education including core courses in Child/Human Growth and Development Early Childhood Education Certificate; Child, Family and Community and Program/Curriculum preferred.

• 1-2 years' experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
• Coursework or a degree in early childhood education or child development.

• The ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.
• CPR and First Aid Certified
• Submit to a CPS and Virginia State Police background check.

Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education OR Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education; state awarded preschool teacher certification with experience teaching preschool aged children; or a Bachelor’s Degree in related field with at least six college courses in Early Childhood Education plus experience teaching preschool aged children

• DEEC certified and 9 months experience or at least 1 supervised practicum.
• Degree or accumulated coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred. Demonstrated interest in continuing study in the field of Early Childhood Education.
