Job Title:
Janitor
Position Summary: Responsible for cleaning buildings and keeping office areas clean by performing the following duties.

Mon-Thurs 5pm-9pm;
Fri 4pm-8pm; open to change.
Must be able to work a 40‑hour work week and additional time as required.
Essential Functions- Clean buildings by emptying trash, cleaning surfaces, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors
- Clean and disinfect office equipment
- Sanitize high‑touch surfaces
- Steam‑clean carpets as needed
- Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces
- Mix various cleaning agents
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
- Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean
- Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants
- Move heavy equipment and furniture
- Identify and report possible repairs
- Stock all toilet paper and paper towel dispensers
- Stock and maintain supply rooms
- Follow all health and safety regulations, understand potential chemical hazards
- Maintains regular and consistent job attendance. Comes to work on time.
- Follows IE’s safety standards and programs including Cardinal Safety Rules.
- Follows and complies with IE Core Values.
Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proven working experience as a Janitor.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and lift up to 10 pounds.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to observe safety and security procedures and to comply with policies.
- Ability to read and interpret written information, write clear statements, and communicate orally.
- Must be able to do physical work and operate power equipment normally found in janitorial operations.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments.
- Ability to follow directions from a supervisor.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism.
- Must be able to manage time efficiently and work individually as well as within a team.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus.
- During duties, employee regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
- Employee frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
