Field Service Technician - North East; MD, NJ, NY, PA

Job Overview

The Field Service Technician will travel extensively to repair, maintain, and start‑up specified Bartelt Packaging equipment, providing a communication link between customers and the company.

• Install, integrate, repair, and troubleshoot flexible packaging machinery of complex design.
• Ensure compliance with inspection, testing, quality, and operating specifications.
• Direct and/or oversee customer personnel during machine installations, integrations, and servicing.
• Customize machine programs onsite as needed.
• Maintain a 24‑hour on‑call status and provide remote technical support.
• Provide factory floor support when not traveling.
• Deliver customer training on machine operation and service.
• Assist customers with aftermarket parts.

• Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent education/experience.
• At least 3 years of machinery repair experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout the U.S. and occasionally internationally.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to train customer personnel on equipment.

• Experience with flexible packaging material machinery.
• PLC programming experience.
• Familiarity with PLC/PC control systems.
