Coordinate the building permit application process from intaake to issuance. Point of first contact with residents, contractor and business owners. Other duties include scheduling inspections, assisting with contractor registration, mutli-family and business inspection programs. Perform clerical, general administrative and casherd duties as required. The work environment is fast-paced and includes significant customeer contact in person, by telephone and email.
Position QualificationsQualified candidates will have a hisgh school diploma or GED equivelent, with at least three years of progressively responsible office experience. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products. Previous experience in a fast-paced office nvironment, customer serce, construction management or municipal government is preferred.
Successful cadidate must have exceptional customer service skills, ability to multi-task, possess good communication, organization, administrative and time management skills. The selected canidate mus also successfully complete a background chack and post-offer employment phisical examiniation, includng dru screening.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary is $25.00 per hour. The position is up to 20 hours per week not to exceed 1,000 hours annually. Not IMRF eligible.
