Location:

Duration: 6 Months Contract
Pay: $26.00/Hour on W2
Hours:
08:00 AM - 04:00 PM (Mon - Fri)
Hours/Week: 35 Hours per week

The Facilities and Operations team plays a critical role in this ecosystem, maintaining the physical environments and transportation assets that allow staff to serve the community effectively. From ensuring building safety to managing the vehicles that transport youth and frontline staff, this department is the backbone of the agency's daily operations.
Role Summary
The Facilities & Operations Support Specialist provides essential maintenance and logistical support to ensure the safety and efficiency of DCYF operations. This role involves a mix of technical troubleshooting, physical labor, and administrative tasks to maintain agency buildings, equipment, and vehicles in peak condition.
Illustrative Duties & Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Technical Support
Routine Inspections: Conduct daily walkthroughs of the interior and exterior of the building(s).
Repairs & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues involving small appliances and general building equipment.
Technical Tasks: Replace bulbs, work in confined spaces, and utilize ladders safely to maintain the facility.
System Knowledge: Apply basic knowledge of mechanical engineering, HVAC, and plumbing to assist in facility upkeep.
Reading Schematics: Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repairs and installations.
Logistics & Fleet Support
Equipment Handling: Assemble or dismantle furniture and equipment according to manufacturer procedures.
Moving Operations: Prepare, pack, and secure items for transport, ensuring all loads are balanced to prevent damage.
Vehicle Inspection & Safety: Conduct routine safety checks on agency vehicles, including monitoring tire pressure, fluid levels, and lighting systems.
Preventative Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and transport vehicles for regular servicing, such as oil changes and inspections, to ensure fleet longevity.
Fueling & Cleaning: Maintain fleet readiness by ensuring vehicles are properly fueled and cleaned, both inside and out, in accordance with agency standards.
Fleet Log Management: Assist in maintaining accurate logs and service records using Microsoft Office Suite.
Transport & Delivery: Safely operate agency vehicles to move equipment, furniture, or supplies between DCYF locations.
Emergency Fleet Assistance: Respond to minor roadside issues, such as jump-starting a battery or coordinating towing services for disabled vehicles
Safe Operation: Maintain a valid driver's license to assist with fleet-related tasks and vehicle movement.
Safety & Team Collaboration
Safety First: Strictly follow all safety guidelines to provide a secure environment for staff and visitors.
Teamwork: Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, maintaining a non-conflictual and professional spirit.
Communication: Follow oral instructions from supervisors and respond to emergency requests in a timely manner.
Administrative: Utilize the Microsoft Office Suite for basic reporting, communication, and scheduling.
Physical Requirements
Strength: Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs on a routine basis.
Stamina: Physically fit and capable of climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
