Position Summary:

When the sun goes down and temperatures drop below freezing, our snowmakers gear-up and head out on the mountain.  Facing challenging weather and difficult mountain terrain, our snowmakers perform the physically demanding job of tending to our snow making equipment.  The Snow making Controller plays a critical role in delivering the high-quality terrain Eldora guests expect each season. Working primarily overnight in challenging mountain conditions, this position is responsible for operating and monitoring snow making systems, including pumps, compressors, and water delivery infrastructure, to maximize production and efficiency.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
* Perform job duties in a safe manner according to departmental training and procedures
* Understand the system components for water and air delivery
* Properly operate water pumps and air compressors for maximum production and efficiency
* React to and troubleshoot snow making system issues
* Assist in the charging and draining of snow making pipelines
* Maintain proper injection rate of snow making water additive
* Maintain radio contact with the on-hill crew & communicate availability of resources to on-hill crew (air and water)
* Relay weather changes to on-hill crew
* Follow confined space entry protocol, be able to relieve system pressure if need arises
* Keep work areas clear of snow and ice
* Maintain thorough shift records
* Assist Snow making Management in maintaining all department records
* Complete Facilities and Vehicle Inspections and oversee cleanliness of the pumphouse, compressor pad and other snow making facilities
* Generate the daily management report
* Communicate any equipment issues to department manager/equipment manager
* Assist in pumphouse duties such as rolling snow making hose
* Assist in training of seasonal controllers
* Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests.
