Terminal Operator

Mountain Cement Company, a subsidiary of Eagle Materials, is seeking an experienced Terminal Operator for a new cement plant in LaSalle, CO.

• Have a working knowledge of shipping operations and material flows.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematics with accuracy.
• A strong mechanical aptitude.
• Have reliable attendance and safety records.
• Be able to work without constant supervision.
• Be able to give and take directions.
• Must be able to work with the public in person and over the telephone in an efficient and courteous manner.
• Knowledge of safe and productive operation of mobile equipment.
• Must be physically fit.

• Perform safety inspections of all working areas at least once per shift as required by federal mining regulations.
• Prepare railroad bulk cars for unloading, inspect and clean interiors when necessary, report damage or adverse conditions to supervisor, and open/close bottom hatches as required.
• Move railcars and spot trucks to facilitate loading operations, both manually and with a Track mobile.
• Operate cement extraction and conveying system machinery to provide cement loadout.
• Perform operations checks and lubrication on all conveying equipment, including air slides, screw conveyors, drives, dust collectors, loading spouts, railroad rail, etc., reporting adverse conditions to supervisor.
• Occasionally clean silo interiors.
• Repair pumps, screws, bucket elevators, air slides, dust collectors, loading spouts, and hoppers.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the work area to remove hazards; maintain a clean work area and complete cleanup before leaving the shift.
• Operate mobile equipment safely, ensuring proper task training and compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Perform other assigned work as directed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
  Required
• Experience working in an industrial environment.
  Preferred

• Work 8‑hour to 12‑hour shifts in hot, cold, muddy, icy, or dusty conditions for extended periods.
• Subject to twisting, bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing.
• Access silos via elevator and stairway up multiple flights of stairs or via a 200‑foot tall ladder.
• Travel routes may include stairs, catwalks, ladders, elevated walkways, and uneven floors.
• May be required to lift up to 95 lbs.
