As a Maintenance Custodian
, you will perform custodial duties to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of facilities within residence halls, apartments, and dining areas. In this role, you will also complete routine maintenance work on buildings, facilities, and equipment. You must be willing and able to perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, including painting, spackling, and minor patching, as well as wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operating industrial cleaning equipment such as high-speed buffers, burnishers, shampooers, and vacuum cleaners.
You will be responsible for cleaning restrooms, classrooms, residence halls, offices, and similar facilities, as well as moving heavy items such as tables, furniture, cleaning equipment, and supplies. This position requires the ability to bend, stoop, and lift items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, stand and walk continuously throughout your shift, and climb and stand on ladders. The standard work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
This is a full-time 100 % FTE, permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
SalaryMonthly Salary: $3,417 to $4,542. Range 38 Steps A - M. Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications- The ability to do required work and the ability to read and write AND six months experience in custodial, general or building maintenance, grounds keeping, or semi-skilled carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing repair work; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
