Position DetailsThe Opportunity:
As a Custodian 1 for Auxiliary Facilities Services
, you will perform custodial tasks under general supervision to maintain the cleanliness and care of facilities within residence halls, apartments, and dining areas. In this role, you must be willing and able to complete duties associated with commercial cleaning, including painting and spackling, while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operating industrial cleaning equipment such as high-speed buffers, burnishers, shampooers, and vacuum cleaners.
You will also be responsible for cleaning restrooms, classrooms, residence halls, offices, and similar facilities, as well as moving heavy items such as tables, furniture, cleaning equipment, and supplies. This position requires the ability to bend, stoop, and lift and move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, stand and walk continuously throughout your shift, and climb and stand on ladders.
Positions hired may be assigned to one of the following shifts based on departmental and operational needs: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, 7:30 to 4:00 pm, 8 am to 4:30 pm, alternative work week, early mornings, swing, late evening, and weekend shifts.
Schedules are determined according to departmental staffing requirements and may vary depending on availability.

$3,195 to $4,201 | Range 34 |Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
