This role involves custodial maintenance at a school facility, ensuring a clean and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Salary: $17.50 per hour

• Ability and willingness to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to relate well to children, other staff members, and the public
• Knowledge of the materials, methods, equipment and practices used in cleaning and minor repair operations

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Participates in the general cleaning and general maintenance of the facility.
• Makes minor repairs and adjustments to building fixtures and equipment as prescribed by the Custodial Crew Leader/administrator.
• Follows procedures prescribed by the building administrator, for routine security and safety for the students, staff, and visitors to the facility.
• Reports maintenance/repair needs to Custodial Crew Leader /Administrator.
• Collects and disposes of refuse; facilitates others’ daily disposal of recyclable materials.
• Dusts and cleans furniture.
• Vacuums, dry mops, sweeps, wet mops, strips, waxes and polishes floors in accordance with SREF standards.
• Cleans and washes windows, mirrors, walls, (chalk) / white boards, desks, sinks, toilets, and other soiled areas.
• Moves, with others, furniture or equipment within the work location when proper and safe moving equipment is available.
• Keeps areas such as walks, driveways, playground areas, etc. clean.
• Replaces light bulbs, fluorescent lamps/other lighting devices, and soiled ceiling tiles, when needed.
• Sets up and cleans facility after community usage of facility.
• Communicates with Custodial Crew Leader in maintaining a proper inventory of equipment, supplies, and other necessary, job-related items.
• Attends job-related workshops and training programs.
• Assembles furniture and equipment.
• Works additional hours upon reasonable request.
• Maintains an effective working relationship with students, other employees, and visitors to the facility.
• Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned by the building administrator.
