Job Title: Custodial Associate (CUST)
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Facilities Engineer
Primary Function: To operate in a team environment in the manufacturing of specialty plastic compounds while consistently being efficient, clean, safe, and maintaining our high-quality standard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Regularly carry out cleaning duties, such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Sanitize and disinfect surfaces in restrooms, common areas, and high-touch points.
- Empty trash and recycling bins.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Clean and stock restrooms with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Coordinate with the maintenance department for repairs.
- Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and power washers.
- Conduct routine security checks to ensure you lock all doors and windows after cleaning.
- Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Respond promptly to spills or accidents to ensure employee and guest safety.
- May operate industrial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers or other equipment.
- Help maintain the outside areas of all Foster facilities as directed.
- Help with the winter maintenance of snow removal, sanding and salting.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Qualifications- Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operational instructions, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets.
- Ability to handle physical requirements, such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, operating cleaning equipment, and other repetitive motions.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough building cleaning and maintenance.
Education and/or
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent or 1-3 months related experience or training or an equivalent combination of education/training/experience.
Mathematical
Skills:
Basic math skills.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Computer
Skills:
Basic computer skills required.
- Must have good reasoning ability; ability to apply common sense to carry instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: None.
Physical Requirements- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment.
- Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and solvents.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
- Normal exposure to moderate noise levels.
