Part-time Custodian

Job Summary

The Building People, LLC, seeks a Janitor/Custodian to maintain and protect our facilities. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants, so the custodian must be meticulous and thorough, cleaning and tidying the premises and preventing vandalism.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a custodian role focused on building upkeep, with great physical endurance to cover a large space and a keen eye for detail and diligence.

• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces.
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets.
• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and showers, and restock disposables (e.g., soap).
• Wipe mirrors and windows.

• Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
• Very good physical condition and strength.
• Ability to pass a basic federal background check.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and comprehending English to the extent required to perform contract duties.

• High school diploma preferred but not required.
• Proven experience as custodian, janitor, or similar role.
• Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
