Custodial Supervisor
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries (RGI) is looking for a dedicated Full-Time Custodial Supervisor to join our team at Marine Corps Base Quantico for the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM shift. As a Custodial Supervisor, you will lead and support an assigned custodial crew, ensuring military base buildings are meeting custodial requirements.
Essential Duties:
- Provide support, training and supporting documentation in the implementation and achievement of assigned custodial crew's individual plans and goals.
- Assure and maintain quality control.
- Monitor and assure proper execution of (OSI) procedures.
- Monitor employee's behavior and job performance and report any and all observations to Senior Director Real Estate & Facilities.
- Enforce RGI rules, regulations, Health & Safety procedures and report unsafe work conditions and/or violations to Senior Director Real Estate & Facilities.
- Model appropriate work behaviors in terms of appearance, conduct, quantity, and quality of work.
- Assist lead worker and custodial crew as needed in meeting daily cleaning schedule, while meeting quality standards.
- Assure work areas are left in an orderly manner and report all needed repairs to supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education/Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- 3+ year's janitorial experience required.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Must be able to communicate in English.
- Ability to read and mix cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
- Ability to read and follow use of chemical cleaners and machinery.
- Requires DMV check (driving record must be acceptable to RGI's insurance carrier).
- Acquire and maintain first-aid certification.
- Ability to motivate, positively interacts, explain/model tasks and impartially observe/document activities in an impartial manner.
- Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs twisting, pushing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching over head, reaching forward.
- Able to operate custodial equipment.
- Ability to perform hands-on training/modeling for positions requiring heavy physical labor.
