Housekeeping Support Service Worker

Duration: 06 months Contract with possible extension Schedule would be a rotating schedule of every other weekend. Hours will be 7 am to 3 pm

Job Description:

Sweeps, dry and wet mops, strips, waxes, and buffs hard-surfaced floors. Cleans and disinfects walls, furniture, mirrors, toilet fixtures, bathing or shower areas and their equipment, ventilation grills, fans, light fixtures, monitors floors and conditions, and spot mops soiled or wet areas as needed. Removes and replaces curtains, drapes, and blinds for cleaning. Sends linens and clothing to laundry and distributes upon return.

Marks facility linen and members' personal clothing. Keeps records and inventories of same. Cleans dining areas after meals are served. Maintains cleanliness and orderly resident rooms and buildings. Ensuring adequate amounts of paper towels, toilet paper, and soap. Replaces plastic liners in trash containers as needed. Removes ordinary trash from local wastebaskets and puts it into the outdoor garbage containers.

Cleans and disinfects containers for trash, linen, and personal clothing. Cleans windows, dusts, and polishes furniture. Cleans common usage outside areas, such as walkways, ramps, docks, porches, and outside furniture as directed by supervisor. Collaborates with the Activity Department for group activities by providing the clean-up of garbage from the activities on the units and as directed by the supervisor for facility events.

Promptly reports supply shortages and equipment problems or repairs needed to the supervisor. Completes simple, written reports, log sheets, and compliance checklists as directed by the supervisor. Assists in the training of other workers and discusses expectations and progress with the supervisor. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
