- Quincy, MA 02171 Job Duration: 5- months contract with extension or possible fulltime hire Pay Range: $30 – $35/Hour on W2
Schedule:
9:30 am to 6:00pm - With 3-week On Call Rotation (provided a $20 a day stipend)
Job Description The Facility Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the facility. This role ensures a clean, safe, and efficient working environment by assisting with general maintenance, space management, equipment oversight, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and capable of handling multiple facility-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities Perform general facility maintenance, including minor repairs, cleaning, and organization. Assist in managing work spaces, conference rooms, and common areas for efficiency and cleanliness. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for maintenance, repairs, and supplies. Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address issues. Support health and safety compliance by monitoring emergency systems and safety protocols. Assist with office moves, furniture setup, and workspace reconfiguration.
Maintain inventory of facility supplies and reorder as necessary. Respond to facility-related service requests from employees. Ensure heating, cooling, and lighting systems are functioning properly. Support sustainability initiatives by managing waste reduction and energy efficiency efforts.
Qualifications & Skills Previous experience in facility maintenance, or a related role is preferred. Basic knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, Carpentry, Fabrication, Painting & Plastering and electrical maintenance. Concrete repair and installation Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift and move equipment or furniture as needed. Good communication and teamwork skills. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance procedures. Proficiency in using facility management software, Service zone or similar (preferred).
Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in facility management is a plus. 3-5 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or a similar role. Working Conditions May require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Work may involve indoor and outdoor tasks in varying conditions.
