Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Facility Maintenance, Building Maintenance
Job Summary
Performs general maintenance, repair of building mechanical systems and equipment common to a healthcare facility. Carries out scheduled maintenance tasks and repairs as part of a coordinated preventive maintenance program.
Shift ScheduleSunday-Thursday
10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- First response to equipment and system issues in the mechanical section (e.g., plumbing, bulb replacement, leak response).
- First response to electrical and HVAC system issues while on an off shift.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment common to healthcare facilities.
- Maintain records and write reports as part of daily routine.
- Respond to emergencies such as floods, power outages during off hours if requested by supervisors.
- Participate in snow removal as required by maintenance department.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 0–1 years of related work experience.
- Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web‑based applications.
- Basic plumbing knowledge and experience.
- Written Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.
- Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families, and external customers.
- Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies and to use them in varied situations.
- Team Work: Ability to interact respectfully with other employees, professional staff and/or external contacts to offer ideas, identify issues, obtain information or deliver services.
- Customer Service: Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.
Medium work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical in nature and employee needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift.
$30.00 – $40.38
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
