Job Summary
Wisconsin Public Service, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is recruiting Student Laborers (Student - Gas Field Work) for full‑time summer positions beginning in May or June 2026 at our office in Algoma, WI.
Work ScheduleMonday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Half‑hour unpaid lunch during the summer months.
CompensationStarting pay: $19.22 per hour.
The pay range for the position is $19.22 – $21.43. The final salary will depend on education, qualifications, experience, location, shift, travel requirements and business needs.
Responsibilities- Meter painting using cathodic protection reading techniques (Title 49 Part 199).
Gas leak survey: detect, document and report gas leaks.
Facility inspections: check meter sets for odor, damage, obstructions, settling, support problems, and exhaust vents.
Atmospheric corrosion surveys: identify and prevent corrosion, pitting, and loose paint.
Outdoor maintenance: yard upkeep, lawn mowing, painting, snow removal, vehicle wash/dry, equipment and facility maintenance, basic landscaping, window washing.
Other duties as assigned (e.g., transporting equipment, flagging, errands).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma, GED, or HSED.
- Enrolled as a full‑time or part‑time student pursuing a technical, associate, bachelor, or master’s degree.
- Valid driver’s license.
