A Hotel Sales Manager drives revenue by developing, leading, and executing sales strategies to maximize occupancy and room rates, targeting corporate clients, groups, and events. Responsibilities include proactive prospecting, negotiating contracts, managing client relationships (CRM), conducting site inspections, and collaborating with marketing teams to achieve revenue goals.
Key Responsibilities & Duties Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement annual sales plans and marketing strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Business Development:
Proactively identify new business opportunities, target markets, and potential corporate accounts or travel agencies.
Relationship Management:
Maintain, nurture, and expand relationships with current clients to foster loyalty and repeat business.
Contract Negotiation:
Negotiate room rates, meeting space rentals, and catering services to secure bookings.
Sales Execution:
Conduct site inspections, deliver presentations to stakeholders, and manage sales inquiries.
Reporting & Analytics:
Analyze market trends, competitor rates, and performance KPIs using CRM software to adjust strategies.
Collaboration:
Coordinate with front office, revenue management, and catering teams to ensure guest satisfaction and seamless operations. Required
Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
Proven experience in hotel sales, catering, or hospitality management.
Communication:
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.
Analytical
Skills:
Strong ability to interpret market data and manage budgets.
Technology:
Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS) and CRM tools.
Leadership:
Ability to lead and motivate a sales team (for senior roles). Typical Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
Prior experience in a similar role within the hotel industry.
