What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Oversee daily operations of the Concrete Maintenance Unit, including staff supervision and project management
  • Gather and analyze data for long‑range work plans and asset management improvement
  • Recommend and oversee employee training and development initiatives

    Prepare and maintain reports, correspondence, records, and other documentation
  • Serve as a lead worker during snow/ice response and other natural disasters
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in light to medium construction equipment operation or related work
  • Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience in training crew members on the jobsite
  • Familiarity with standard practices, methods, and materials of assigned work
  • Ability to operate various construction equipment effectively
  • Experience in emergency response situations
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with coworkers and the public
