Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Groundskeeper
The Park Maintenance Assistant performs semi-skilled and unskilled work in the maintenance, repair and construction needs of the County Parks and Recreation Maintenance Department. This position involves performing a variety of labor-intensive tasks such as maintaining parks and athletic fields, repairing playground equipment and recreational facilities, and setting up for special events and performing other duties as required.
Graduation from high school and 1 to 2 years of experience in labor-intensive maintenance work; or any combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including tractors, lawn mowers, welders, rakes, and power and hand tools. Must be able to exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
