Job Summary
This position will perform supervisory janitorial work. The role involves supervising, directing, and participating in the work of subordinate custodial personnel. The Supervisor will be on-call to ensure continuous operational improvement and must exhibit superior customer service skills.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6 pm – 10 pm
Responsibilities- Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Custodial Services Department.
- Reports to the Building Representative for component performance on all Custodial work.
- Conducts daily routine inspections to ensure work meets specifications and takes immediate corrective action as needed.
- Provides a professional trained on the night shift to direct cleaning activities, including MSDS for all products and hazardous substances in custodial closets or storage.
- Assists in developing and implementing departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provides leadership and guidance to departmental personnel.
- Maintains proficiency in all techniques and equipment used by the custodial staff.
- Recommends changes in supplies, equipment, or procedures to improve safety or reduce costs.
- Maintains good working relationships with other departments.
- Supervises and maintains close communication with the Lead and the rest of the Custodial Staff.
- Provides ongoing technical and chemical training to all Custodial staff.
- Investigates documents and reports unusual occurrences to the manager.
- Ensures equipment is tested regularly.
- Schedules personnel for proper coverage of custodial services.
- Maintains good working relationship with the client and building occupants.
- Works with Management support staff and the client daily to review custodial performance and discuss ways to improve service levels.
- Ensures staff is dressed in proper uniform attire.
- Issues verbal reprimands and recommends disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Inspects building and grounds to ensure clean and safe conditions.
- Evaluates the need for minor equipment repairs; performs and supervises minor repairs.
- Completes weekly inspections.
- At the end of the shift, ensures equipment and cleaning materials are left clean and ready to use.
- Other duties as necessary.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of janitorial/cleaning experience.
- At least 2 years of previous supervisory experience.
- One or more years of experience as a floor tech, with experience on all types of floor surfaces.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning or polishing agents for various surfaces, including metals, woodwork floors, and floor coverings.
- Knowledge of safety ordinances and regulations.
- Knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment; able to instruct others in their use.
- Ability to understand documents such as Scope of Work and Procedure Manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Common sense for carrying out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram forms.
- Reading and comprehension skills.
- Effective presentation skills in one‑on‑one and group settings to customers.
