Building Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and welcoming operation of our hospice facilities and grounds. This position is responsible for routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance across campus and branch locations, working independently with minimal supervision in a small team environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on, self‑directed professional who enjoys troubleshooting, working with tools, coordinating vendors, and making real‑time decisions in the field. • Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on buildings, grounds, and systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, doors, and fixtures.
• Independently troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine the best solution, including in-house repairs or vendor coordination.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs for equipment and systems such as HVAC units, generators, oxygen systems, life‑safety systems, water heaters, and sewage pumping systems.
• Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify safety concerns, repair needs, and preventative maintenance opportunities.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance issues as needed.
• Safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
• Perform basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs within the scope of training and licensure.
• Coordinate specialized or complex repairs with external contractors when required.
• Work independently with limited day‑to‑day supervision while prioritizing tasks across multiple locations.
• Communicate concerns, issues, or potential risks promptly to your supervisor or management team.
• Maintain patient, family, and staff confidentiality at all times.
