Building Engineer

The Building Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supporting the daily operation, maintenance, and overall condition of a portfolio of commercial medical office properties in Raleigh. This position will work closely with property management, tenants, vendors, and contractors to ensure building systems operate efficiently and properties are maintained to a high professional standard.

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs throughout assigned commercial properties.
• Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other major building systems.
• Respond promptly to tenant service requests and address maintenance issues with a strong focus on customer service.
• Monitor building equipment and identify potential problems before they result in equipment failure or disruption to tenants.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for repairs, maintenance, and building improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service requests, inspections, and equipment repairs.
• Assist with life-safety systems, emergency response, and maintaining compliance with applicable building and safety standards.
• Support property management in maintaining clean, safe, professional, and well-operated medical office environments.

• Previous commercial building maintenance or building engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general mechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and hands-on repair skills.
• Ability to independently prioritize service requests and preventive maintenance responsibilities.
• Professional communication skills and a strong customer-service approach when interacting with tenants.
• Ability to work effectively with property management, vendors, contractors, and other members of the engineering team.
