Full‑Time, Hourly Position, Pay based on skills and experience, starting at $18.00 per hour with opportunities for a higher starting rate for qualified candidates.

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician / Custodian to help keep our school buildings, equipment, and grounds safe, clean, and operating properly.

• Complete maintenance work orders and requests from school departments
• Identify building, equipment, or grounds areas that need repair or attention
• Perform basic maintenance, repairs, installation, and preventative maintenance
• Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and measuring devices
• Help maintain the safety, cleanliness, and structural integrity of school buildings
• Move furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed
• Receive, store, and deliver shipments, supplies, and equipment
• Maintain tools, materials, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner
• Transport equipment or supplies to and from vendors when necessary
• Assist contractors, engineers, vendors, school staff, and other members of the maintenance team
• Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, and seasonal projects
• Provide support during school events and functions
• Perform custodial and housekeeping duties in assigned work areas
• Complete other maintenance‑related duties assigned by the Plant Manager or Plant Engineer

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety‑conscious, respectful, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

• General maintenance, custodial, repair, construction, mechanical, or facilities experience preferred
• Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to report to work consistently, on time, and as scheduled
• Strong attention to safety and quality
• Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with staff and students
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds

• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Occasionally push or pull up to 150 pounds without assistance
• Bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, and pull
• Use hands, fingers, and full‑body movement to complete maintenance tasks
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions
• Safely perform physically active work throughout the shift
