Caterpillar is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Rapid City, SD. In this role, you will perform planned and ad hoc maintenance, oversee suppliers performing maintenance and repairs, write work procedures and address requests to appropriate internal support departments.

What you can look forward to in this role:

• Complying with safety, health, and environmental guidelines and participating in continuous improvement of the procedures while performing equipment maintenance.
• Inspecting machinery and equipment to identify problems and potential solutions, and performing appropriate troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance procedures
• Tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance parts consumption, and scheduled preventive maintenance procedures using Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Communicating major issues in equipment performance and maintenance to the managers;
  Supporting the team in implementing robust solutions to improve overall efficiency, yield, and uptime of the equipment.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:

• Technical Troubleshooting:
  Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.
• Facility / Mechanical/Machinery:
  Knowledge of machines and tools; ability to use knowledge of maintaining the mechanical and electrical systems within including repair and maintenance.
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
  Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
• Effective Communications:
  Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:

• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or technical facility environments, with particular emphasis on testing or product development environments.
• Familiarity with work order systems, inventory tracking, and basic maintenance processes.

Summary Pay Range:

$28.70 - $43.10
