Operations Technician – Marathon Pipe Line Company – Rawlins, WY OverviewThe Operations Technician position works in and around crude oil executing Operations & Logistics, Damage Prevention, and Right of Way Relations activities. The successful candidate will facilitate and monitor pipeline movements, conduct product sampling, complete routine facility checks and cover damage prevention duties as well as other operational tasks required on the pipeline. All duties will be performed in accordance with all regulations supporting DOT, Environmental, Safety, and Regulatory compliance.
Travel, callouts, and overtime will be required on an as‑needed basis. The candidate must live within 45 minutes of Rawlins, WY.
The Operations Technician will perform tasks including pipeline movements and measurements, routine station checks, station alarm response and resolution, communication of findings to appropriate parties, right‑of‑way conflict response, work order creation and closure in SAP for required preventative and corrective maintenance, coordination of maintenance activities, and completion of all required training. All work will be performed safely and in an environmentally conscious manner.
Participation in an on‑call rotation will be required depending on the candidate’s OQ qualifications.
- A high school diploma or GED is required. An associate’s degree in a technical field is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills is expected; previous pipeline experience is preferable.
- Must be willing to work at least 8‑hour shifts which may include overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
- Must be able to pass a general background check as well as a Motor Vehicle Background check.
