Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/Custodian
Location: Redding Elementary School
Salary & Benefits: In accordance with Redding Custodians Contract

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies

Job Responsibilities Include

Cleans and monitors designated spaces and equipment in the building, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and waxing floors; rubbish removal
Cleans and disinfects bathroom sinks, toilets and urinals, mirrors
Check hand soap, paper towel, & tissue supplies
Cleans classroom sinks/faucets
Replaces light bulbs as needed
Unlocks and locks premises, secures windows and activates/deactivates the alarm systems
Cleans and maintains custodial equipment daily after each use
Helps in unloading of freight as needed with delivery to specified areas
Moves classroom furniture as needed

Physical Demands of Job

Frequent walking, bending, twisting and lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks
Continuous use of hand strength to grasp tools and cleaning equipment and climb on ladders
Push/pull items such as tables, bleachers, and/or cleaning equipment
