Evening Custodian – Lake Washington High School

Location: Lake Washington High School – within the Lake Washington Learning Community

Shift: 3:30 pm – 11:30 pm; 8 hours per day; 12‑month working calendar

Compensation: $31.29 per hour

Responsible for sanitation, maintenance, safety, comfort and security of the school or district building to create and maintain a safe and pleasant environment for students and staff.

• Perform routine cleaning tasks throughout the school premises.
• Maintain safety and security protocols.
• Assist with minor maintenance and repair activities as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

• High school diploma, G.E.D., or related work experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Post‑employment physical and criminal background check required.

• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs (1‑33 % of shift).
• Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting (34‑66 % of shift).
• Continuous walking and standing (67‑100 % of shift).

The position may involve exposure to dust, fumes, gases, commercial‑strength chemicals, temperature changes, and moving machinery. The job generally requires 65 % walking, 20 % standing, and 15 % sitting.

Eligible for membership in the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 286 under the SC5 Custodians salary schedule.
