This is a full-time position with benefits. The hours are 6:30 am - 3:30 pm.
Essential Functions
- Performs basic and routine maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards.
- Conducts job walks of perimeter of grounds to inspect property as required.
- Sets up and tears down facilities for events, i.e., sets up chairs, tables, moving temporary walls, etc.
- Perform repairs and maintenance including, but not limited to: painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, furniture and equipment
repair and assembly; repair/replacement of locks, windows, window blinds, or materials. - Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance including, but not limited to: replace faucet washers, flush valves, and garden hoses; unclog drains and spouts; etc.
- Perform electrical repairs and maintenance including, but not limited to: test and replace electrical outlets; reset breakers; replace fuses; replace
light bulbs, tubes, ballasts; repair electric cords and plugs. - Perform other maintenance tasks as directed by the Director of Facilities and Maintenance. Assists in restoration and major cleaning of buildings
and grounds during school vacation and coordinating work with summer help. - Operates necessary machines, tools, equipment, lawn tractors, and snow removal equipment.
- Must be available to respond to maintenance needs 24 hours a day when warranted, i.e., snow removal, emergency maintenance repair, or as
deemed necessary by the Director of Facilities and Maintenance or Pastor or member of the pastoral staff.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid Class D driver's license with no more than 3 current points.
- Able to drive 3/4 ton truck with standard transmission
- Ability to use materials and equipment and perform building and grounds maintenance work efficiently and safely
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with outside contractors
- A minimum of 5 years of commercial or institutional experience in the identified primary field.
- Possession of journey-level certification.
- Must be able to move furniture, equipment and other materials weighing up to and more than 100lbs.; to move about within very tight spaces where large and potentially dangerous equipment is stored; to operate various types of manual and power tools and automated systems; and to ascend/descend a ladder as needed.
- Practicing Catholic preferred
