the nevada department of wildlife is recruiting for a fleet specialist responsible for the coordination, oversight and lifecycle management of all department owned assets to include vehicles, vessels, specialized equipment, trailers and atvs/utvs. This position ensures proper acquisition, utilization, maintenance, tracking, financial planning, and disposal of assets while ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and administrative requirements.

Using agency databases, the incumbent will support budgeting and planning for fleet needs, including forecasting replacement cycles and maintenance costs.

fleet specialists facilitate fleet operations including vehicle and equipment acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and disposal.

essential qualifications: one or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties and graduation from high school or equivalent education.

assist in composing, reviewing, and updating referenced technical specifications.

facilitate registration, payment, and insurance processes.

input, update, retrieve, maintain, and ensure the integrity of data in either electronic or paper records.

manage the agency's fleet fuel card program and processes.

perform related duties as assigned.

knowledge, skills, and abilities

knowledge of: applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency policies and procedures; business practices applicable to fleet management; vehicle and equipment acquisition and disposition; data processing systems and procedures.

skill in: interpersonal and communication, both verbal and written; use and operation of office and job-related equipment and software.

ability to: establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships; process, format, and generate computer data for reports; organize information and resources systematically.
