Rec Carousel Attendant

Position: REC CAROUSEL ATTENDANT
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Carry out the daily duties of the Idaho Centennial Carousel at Porter Park.

SUPERVISION

This position will work under the direct supervision of the Carousel Manager and Recreation Director.

CATEGORY AND FLSA STATUS:

Part-time, Temporary Summer employment, 10-30 hours, non-exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Collect money for admission and concessions

* Make and sell concession items

* Enforce the rules of the facility to ensure the safety of the customers

* Keep up the cleanliness and appearance of the facility

* Help with any extra tasks administered by the Carousel Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* Must be at least 15 years old

* Able to communicate well with the public and city employees

* Able to handle, count, and be responsible for money collected through admission and concessions costs

* Is self-motivated, has good leadership, and people management abilities

* Ability to work well and collaborate with other employees, and to be reliable

* Computer skills to be able to utilize the resources necessary to complete the essential duties aforementioned

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily in the Idaho Centennial Carousel with some travel to different sites; may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends. Tasks require a variety of physical activities, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and lifting. The facility is outdoors and employees will work in a wide range of temperatures and weather. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required.

Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and creative problem solving.
