• Responsible for cleaning, custodial work, and maintenance in a moderate‑sized public building.
• Supervise a small group of employees or assist in supervising a larger group of subordinates.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, washing, vacuuming, polishing, and waxing floors, walls, windows, woodwork, furniture, and equipment in offices, halls, wards, staff quarters, dining rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, operating rooms, and laboratories.
• Clean plumbing fixtures, dispose of trash and waste, and maintain necessary supplies in washrooms.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed.
• Run errands and clean sidewalks; perform manual labor related to lawn and garden maintenance.
• Monitor property and grounds for safety.
• Occasionally operate passenger or freight elevators and assist a maintenance technician with minor equipment work.
• Perform other related work as required.

• Thorough knowledge of equipment and methods used in cleaning and custodial work and proficiency in their application.
• Ability to supervise the work of others and understand both oral and written directions.
• Completed eight school grades or equivalent educational experience.
• Experience in general cleaning and custodial work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
