- Supervise a staff of employees engaged in cleaning, janitorial, custodial, heating services, and routine maintenance tasks in a major public office building.
- Assign, lay out, supervise, and review the work of employees performing cleaning, janitorial, custodial, heating services and routine maintenance tasks.
- Perform periodic inspections of maintenance carpentry, electrical work, painting, plastering, plumbing and related building maintenance projects to ensure satisfactory performance.
- Supervise and review subordinates engaged in grounds beautification and maintenance, including removal of snow and rubbish.
- Supervise and review subordinates engaged in the operation and maintenance of high or low‑pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment in the building heating plant.
- Requisition, store, distribute, and account for cleaning, janitorial, and necessary building and grounds maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Review and evaluate requests for office and storage space allocations and make recommendations to a superior.
- Prepare and submit written reports relating to assigned functions.
- Perform related work as required.
- Thorough knowledge of cleaning methods, cleaning materials, and equipment used in public buildings.
- Working knowledge of the principles and practices of common building trades.
- Ability to inspect a building, its equipment, and grounds, and to plan maintenance, repair, and custodial activities.
- Ability to plan, lay out, supervise, and evaluate the work of others.
- Ability to estimate building or grounds repair or renovation costs.
- Ability to meet and deal with tenants tactfully.
- Ability to prepare and submit written reports.
- Graduated from a senior high school, GED, or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience that is substantially equivalent.

Tuesday through Friday – 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Saturday – 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
